About Us

This is the official web address for Sergeant Pepper's Super Groovy Technically Mechanical Robotics Club!

A club, an organization, and a business for expressing one's creativity.

Established in March 2010, SPSGTMRC has been building, burning, melting, inventing, creating, developing, and playing!

Originally started in March of 2010 as a non-profit organization, SPSGTMRC was created as an outlet for the yearning young students of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. They had the desire to make remote control objects and locker gadgets. It was started by Terrence Joseph Flanagan, Matthew C. Gaston, and Samuel Talaber; with Kathy Tackett and Bridget Sharp as the clubs ultimate sources of knowledge , SPSGTMRC grew throughout the school. When the club was approved by the OLPH Principal, Jackie Palermo, members joined like a ants on a dead worm in the middle of spring! The name, Sergeant Pepper's Super Groovy Technically Mechanical Robotics Club, was created by Matthew C. Gaston and Samuel Talaber. Both had a great admiration for The Beatles, especially the Sgt. Pepper Album; therefore it was only natural for them to begin the same way the album did. The rest of the words flowed out like molasses at 486 degrees Kelvin! The naming was so quick, they did not realize that they had created a rather long name. Thanks to acronyms,  you save about 2.1 seconds saying SPSGTMRC compared to the full name. The name implies that it is a robotics club, but as of 2011, the club has broadened its fields. Because of the beloved name, members vowed to never change the name even though it did not entirely fit with every branch. SPSGTMRC has developed varies branches based on interests. For example: the Light Installation Club (LIC) and the Awesome Aeronautical Association (AAA). The club has developed a type or club language using acronyms (very much like the military). The favorite past times of the club members are card games. In specific, BS is the main event! Be sure to sharpen you skills before becoming a member because SPSGTMRC has the best BS team in Texas. (BS, I was lying, but they are rather good!) Membership is free and will continue to be free for eternity. As of February 2013, SPSGTMRC has started working as a forum for young entrepreneurs and inventors. Sergeant Pepper's Super Groovy Technically Mechanical Robotics Club is a organization that exists to fulfull the individual's desire for building and creating and shall for eternity.
